What is an EPC?
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) give information on how to make your home more energy efficient and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. All homes bought, sold or rented require an EPC prior to the commencement of marketing.
Penalties for not having an Energy Performance Certificate for residential properties is a fine of £200, and in the case of commercial properties 12.5% of the rateable value with a maximum of £5000.
